  • A Rich Belgian Strong Dark Ale with Hints of Fruit and Spice

Mc Chouffe, known as "The Scotch of the Ardennes," is a rich and complex Belgian Strong Dark Ale. With an ABV of 8%, this unfiltered dark beer boasts a deep chestnut color and a fine, creamy head. Its distinctive flavor profile combines sweet, fruity notes with spicy aniseed and liquorice, all balanced by a subtle hint of bitterness. The complexity of Mc Chouffe is further enhanced by its full-bodied caramel notes, making it a unique and memorable beer experience.

Founded in 1982 by Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, Brasserie d'Achouffe is nestled in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. It has grown from a small hobby to a brewery renowned worldwide, especially after being acquired by Duvel Moortgat in 2006. Known for its signature gnome logo inspired by Ardennes folklore, the brewery produces a wide range of beers that are enjoyed in over 72 countries.

Mc Chouffe's rich and complex profile pairs wonderfully with a variety of foods. Brasserie d'Achouffe recommends enjoying it with game, Parma ham, entrecôte, braised chicory, mushrooms, parsnips, and a variety of seafood such as salmon, scampi, and oysters.

It also complements cheeses like Selles sur Cher and Saint-Maure, as well as spices such as star aniseed and clove.
